Equipment Punching
You can increase your equipment’s attributes by inlaying runes into them if you want to gain more power and strength in the game. However, it requires equipment punching.
How to punch equipment?
Go to visit an NPC named Hodge in the City of Heroes (35,-33) and click equipment punching. Put your equipment into the interface and punch the item. Then it will be complete.
Every equipment item has a maximum of 3 holes after punching and the colour of the holes will be given randomly.
Color of the hole
Attack related equipment: Weapon, Necklace, Rings
Protection related equipment: Helmet, shoulder, Breastplate, Waistband, Gloves, Shoes
Attack related equipment will have [Red Color-Hole] and [Golden Color-Hole] after punching.
Protection related equipment will have [Green Color-Hole] and [Golden Color-Hole] after punching.
Tips for rune inlay
Attack Runes: Intellect and Strength (Red Color Hole)
Protective Runes: Endurance, Agility and Spirit (Green Color Hole) Special Runes can be inlaid into Golden Color Holes
Equipment Punching-Repair
If you are not satisfied with the quality of the current holes that your equipment has. You can then repair this hole from Hodge in the City of Heroes. Place the fluorescent magic stone and equipment you would like to repair into the interface, select the inlay hole you would like to repair then complete the process.
